We weren't expecting any more trailers or other footage-based promotion until next month, but Lionsgate delivered a surprise today with a new "trailer", that first debuted on Good Morning America, titled For Prim, which takes an emotional look back at the journey of Katniss and Prim through the 4 films. Check it out on the official YouTube channel below:
The teaser, set to M83's 'My Tears Are Becoming A Sea', primarily consists of footage from the previous films, but it does include a couple of new shots from Mockingjay - Part 2 - the Prim shot above, and a new Peeta shot as well!
Similar to the new poster released earlier today - the trailer is more oriented towards fans of the book. The way this is put together, and especially the title, do make us wonder whether it's too spoilery for audiences that haven't read the books. To be honest, not sure debuting on national television was the best idea....is this where fan nostalgia trumps regard for general audiences? Maybe it would've better to release this after the film, like the Atlas Catching Fire trailer....
We are expecting TV spots with more new footage to start landing October 16th, and one more action-packed final trailer to be released at the end of that month, in cinemas with the new James Bond adventure SPECTRE.
Let us know what you think of the new teaser!
